Duck Quack Reprimand

What?
Where is our bread?
You brought a camera instead?
How thoughtless is that!
duck-reprimand
Now….
Have you anything to say
in your own defense
before we quack you away?
Two-ducks
Yes, actually
I do have something to say.
You don’t need more bread.
Living in a pond
behind a nice restaurant,
the leftover food
must have affected your head.
So, I’ll take a stand…
I refuse to accept your
duck quack reprimand!
fat-duck
You see….
All of the birds here
are getting a little fat.
Portly-duck
You’re not hungry, not starving,
so don’t be upset
because I’ve no bread
and be happy I’m holding
my camera instead.      ~ms

  5. Ducks do seem to be awfully opinionated and demanding, something about the way they waddle and that head tilt and of course the grumpy comments. Your story, poem and photos did make me chuckle too.

  6. Walt Disney did a great job when he captured all of those behaviors in his lovable character “Donald Duck,” who does tend to get annoyed (ruffled feathers) rather easily. Guess that’s why Donald
is so loved….there is a little duck in all of us. 🙂

  22. Thank you. These ducks are used to people feeding them, so I was able to get some good photos because they were not afraid of me at all.
