Thinking about Being

While I was thinking about being
and wondering why I’m here,
time appeared before my eyes
and melted into years.
Lemur-Thinking
Yesterday, I was so young
and now somehow I’m old?
I used to do a lot
but now….I don’t do much at all.
Like this hapless elephant,
seems I’ve walked into a wall!
Elephant-and-Rock
Every day I am so tired
where did my energy go?
When I started slowing down,
I honestly don’t know.
Tired-Meerkat

I must pick myself up
and find something to do.
Perhaps I’d feel much better
with a new upbeat hairdo.

Then again— maybe not!      ~ms

  1. It’s funny: I always imagined the thought of being as a question a computer would ask itself. In a bright green font against a blackened background: Where am I? Who am I? What is my purpose? How did I get here? What is existing?

But then all of those mind-melting thoughts are washed away as the day progresses and I have things to do. 🙂

I hope the hairdo isn’t an omen….I have an appointment tomorrow morning to have my hair done and I really hope it doesn’t turn out like that. 🙂

You’d have to work hard to get that look of surprise on your face like the bird *sheepish grin*… but with that awesome light like in the pic you’d be angelic!

        • Thanks again! I thought it was funny that you posted this comment in the wrong place at first. We must be related. Truth is, when i wrote the poem “Butterfly Apology”…I was writing about myself. People have been calling me ‘directionally challenged’ for years. All I have to do is turn around and it’s a whole new world. 🙂

  20. The photos are amazing, the words resonate loudly. One of my first blogs talks about how time has passed so fast and how I struggle to accept that I have slowed down a bit too. But you said it so eloquently…on being. Whispering Insights

I see by the posted date that your comment has been sitting here since August?
      Egads…it’s December.
My eyes do this to me all of the time. Things that I have never noticed before will suddenly “appear” before me.
One day I complimented a co-worker on a beautiful blonde streak she had just added to her hair (or so I thought).
She replied, “It’s been like this for the past 6 months.”
OH. Well. Hmmm…I really do like it, though.
A nearby co-worker (a man) laughed when he overheard the conversation, and said– “Oh! You must be a lot of fun to be married to. After 10 years of marriage, you probably went up to your husband and said; ‘Hey good looking–where did you come from.’ ”
OK. Wait a minute. I’m not that bad.
There are just so many interesting things to focus on, sometimes I miss a few things.
There is a positive side to this.
One afternoon, as my husband was driving down the road, he suddenly got noticeably upset. When I asked him what the problem was, he said– “What? You didn’t see that?! How could you not see! That guy in the blue car almost hit us, changing lanes at the last minute.”
Oh. Well. Hmmmm…I honestly didn’t see it. I was not driving, so I was looking up– watching the treetops blowing in the wind and the clouds dancing across the sky.

We can’t act contrary to the nature but if we harmonize with Nature we feel complete and void of prejudice. We realize little by little who we are and what we are meant for 🙂

    • Hmmm…Little by little.
A few seconds before I die, I will suddenly open my eyes and say:
“Wait! I’ve just figured it all out… I know exactly why I’m here!”
And then, I will be gone. 😉

But what about a life goal then? 🙂 There are two ways. The 1st one: you can live in hopes you’ll understand one day why you are here. And the 2nd one: you can live following your way and loving truly what you are doing to finally figure out you’ve been fulfilling your purpose for so many years. 🙂
