Thoughts on Time

I thought about the new year
while sitting in a tree.
I did the same thing last year,
time matters not to me.ThinkingTell me, honestly—
Did you see the day pass by
the last second in-between,
when time inside someone’s eyes
became 2014?

Covered in dust, I’m drifting
into tomorrow’s dream
as thought continues shifting
shapes into the things I see…..Elephant-blowing-smoke

While time’s illusion wanders on
more or less unseen,
I appreciate you walking
through reflective words with me.

  5. It’s only us people who measure time, all the other creatures do just fine without knowing what day or year it is – they just live in the now. Happy New Year Mary!

Fabulous photos. Wishing you many blessings for the new year. (But I like the line ‘time matters not to me’)

    • Time matters most to those who feel like they are running out of time to do what they really want to do. You two are already living life to its fullest, so time matters not! Love reading about your adventures together.

    • Thanks Michael……sniff, cough. I think I have the flu or something. I need some warm tea? It’s COLD outside tonight! A cold wind is blowing and it is supposed to go down to 4 degrees (Fahrenheit). That’s pretty darn cold for the state of Virginia.

    • Thank you so much Eddie Two Hawks!
Traveling through life with wide open eyes….we will always be discovering new and interesting things. Being able to share our discoveries with others is a great source of happiness for both of us, I think!

Happy New Year, to you Mary; I discovered your wonderfully-named “Before I Forget” through a comment you left at a blog I like (the also wonderfully-named “The Life of Your Times”) and came to have a look around.

Was just browsing, I thought, but you hooked me with that fat cat and his girlfriend (in November) and the misguided little squirrel. (Such a cautionary tale about our dreams !)

    • Thank you, Kathlin! Ah yes….the poor misguided squirrel. Divided by glass, she still loved the image of the fat cat so much. I hope that squirrel is doing OK out there in the wintry weather. I haven’t seen her for awhile. It went all the way down to 4 degrees (Fahrenheit) 2 nights ago, which is rather rare for Virginia.

  13. I should take more time to browse through your exquisite and profound poetry which I wish to do as soon as I’ve finished restoring my blog! It is taking much longer than I thought to reinsert all those photos erased by sheer ignorance toward technology but now I know 😉
We sometimes learn the hard way but oh boy… we never forget!
