My Furry Writer’s Block

Oh no!
My ability to type
and string words together
is currently squished beneath
a furry writer’s block.

Look!
I don’t see any letters
and numbers are hidden too,
but my little writer’s block
is purring warm and happy,
I don’t know what to do!

I do realize that
I can move my blocking cat
without much trouble
to a more convenient place.
But I didn’t want to see
an unhappy, grumpy face.
One blue cat eye speaks volumes!

Truth is—
It might be easier
to accept my fate
and permanently donate
this warm computer laptop
to my heat-seeking friend!   ~ms

================
Honestly though, I must admit, this sweet cat is not in the way of  writing at all.  I am the source of my writer’s block. Staring out of winter cold windows, I keep thinking about those who have recently died due to random acts of terrorism. None of this makes any sense to me. I am beyond sad, and there are no words to adequately convey my sadness. God Bless us all…..

Cute cat. She is giving you a break, a time to reflect….. 😉

    • She could teach classes on how to take a break (in fact, all cats probably could)!
Someone once told me that cats were monks in their previous lives.
They are definitely experts when it comes to meditation and reflection, and they know how to fall asleep at any time or place that they choose.
I wish I could do that! If I could learn to take cat naps, I wouldn’t be so tired.

Your cat is very like my Celie except that Celie has bright blue eyes and a paler tummy. Her thing is head-butting when you’re trying to read or write.

    • We had a Siamese cat like that (Sam)–many years ago now.
She was into head-butting the coffee mug, while I was attempting to drink coffee.
She did the same thing to my husband. Maybe she liked the power of making things spill!

The time-out must be right since it’s a cat (a superior) that made the decision for you. I wish you better thoughts though. Most of the world has trouble seeing the sense in these acts of violence done in a perverted version of the Moslem faith. True Moslems condemn it too.
I wish you Nadolig Llawen and xxx Cwtch mawr xxx (Happy Christmas and Huge Hugs xxx)

Hopefully you can get past your writer’s block and just let that beautiful cat lay there once in a while. Sad times indeed.

    • Oh she (Siri) lays on my laptop whenever she wants, that’s for sure.
A great purring comfort, she is!
Especially during a time when there is violence and great sadness in the world.
I don’t know what the ending of the world’s story will be, but it doesn’t look good.

  6. Even cats nowadays addicted to the gadgets. 🙂 Crazy World! Not because of addicted animals but of acts of terrorism.

The purring warm writers block is very cute. ;). And I know what you mean about all that’s happening. 😦

I went to my hometown in Germany last weekend and they had special military personal with rifles guarding the station “just in case”. First time I’ve ever encountered that…

These are great! So typical of our furry friends to lie down wherever we are working! And I so agree about the state of the world and terrorism. It stops me cold at all points of my day. I’ve written quite a bit about it on my blog… poetry surely won’t save the world, but it has been helping me cope. ❤
