Dear God,
I can’t see or walk very good yet
and I am too little to take care of myself,
so I am grateful that you gave me a foster mom
and a safe place to stay.
Without her, I don’t know where I would be right now.
Not only did she save my life, she also brought my mom into her home and saved the lives of 3 other baby kittens too.
I intend to repay my foster mom for her kindness as soon as I can. When I am a little bigger, I am going to jump up and sit on her lap and purr as loudly as I can. That way she will know that I love her as much as she has loved me.
I do understand that as soon as I get old enough, someone is going to adopt me and take me away to my furever home. I am excited about that, but thinking about moving also makes me feel sad. I will miss my foster mom when I go.
Whatever happens God, I have faith that you will guide me down the right path.
Thank you for listening to my prayer.
Now I have to sleep again, because that’s what baby kittens do.
Sweet dreams all!
***My neighbor is a volunteer with the local animal shelter, and she is currently the foster mom to the mother cat and 4 baby kittens in these photos. Even though I have 2 cats of my own, this is the first time that I have ever seen kittens so small. An interesting experience!
++ UPDATE ++ July 8, 2018
The 4 kittens are now 10 weeks old, full of curiosity, and learning more about the world around them every day. They are ready to be adopted and have been working hard to perfect their basic cat skills, such as:
STALKING
A cat who knows how to stalk stealthily is guaranteed to keep your house free of unwanted bugs and rodents.
HUGGING and PURRING
These two priceless cat skills have the power to lift and heal a tired soul. Always great to have a little extra love and affection!
CELL PHONE CALLING and TEXTING
Definitely not basic cat skills, but it is important to at least attempt to understand how to use a cell phone in this digital age. Always good to be prepared. Might need to dial 911 one day, and ask the fire department for help getting out of a tree.
POSING
This is a very difficult skill to perfect–especially for a kitten. I have a lot of unusable blurry photos of gray ‘blurs’ running, jumping, and playing, so I appreciated the ones who decided to stop for a few seconds and pose for the camera. Without a doubt, the next two kittens were practicing their “Please Adopt Me” poses. Absolutely perfect!
We are waiting with open arms.
People who have true compassion for the most helpless of creation are surely the best of folk.

Thanks for the comment, Jim!
Seeing the trusting faces of the little foster kittens was good for my soul.
I need some of that faith, to be sure.
I haven’t been writing too much lately because, 2 years ago, I bought a new house that is now falling apart at the seams–because the builder didn’t bother to compact the area underneath the foundation. Cracking everywhere. The stress has put a big dent in my creativity. I guess it’s about time that I write about that!

That is so sweet. From the kitten’s point of view makes it even better.

Thanks!
I have often wondered what my 2 older cats are thinking. They don’t have to talk to each other with their voices–they simply use their eyes (kind of like the ‘Vulcan Mind Meld’ from Star Trek). Sometimes the male cat sits and silently stares at me–I usually can figure out what he wants.

Yes…Those little kittens melt the heart. As I said above, I had never see kittens so small! I have 2 cats, but the male (,Keona)is was 2 months old when we got him (much bigger than 2 or 3 weeks old) , and the female was 1 1/2 (adopted from Siamese rescue). Keona is as big as a small dog now, but he thinks he is the size of a jungle lion. He tries to push me around with his eyes. 😳. https://storieswithnobooks.com/2012/12/10/low-tech-computer-screen-blockers/

Hi Mary. Thank you for sending me this gorgeous account. It brings back memories to me of an event that happened to me about 15 years ago. I was standing in my kitchen and I heard a little voice from the Spirit World say to me telepathically, “Please help me. I want to LIVE!!” mewed at me. I used to live in an old barn conversion up in mid-Wales. I ran outside and started searching around all of the out buildings for a lost kitten from which this distress call had been sent out on the Spiritual Ethers. After about an hour, I found a litter of six abandoned kittens about 4-5 weeks old in the old stable house. The smallest, a brown tabby female was already unconscious from starvation and dehydration. I scooped them up and got them straight to the vets. They were all in a bad way. The vet checked them all over and said that he thought that they would all pull through except for the smallest of the litter, the female brown tabby. He then said, I’ll put her down now! Again, I heard telepathically the brown tabby kitten call to me frantically pleading for her life, “Help me! I want to LIVE!!!” I told the vet not to put her down and that I would give her a chance. I spent the next few weeks giving them all two hourly feeds day and night by a syringe until they were strong enough to be able to lap for themselves to eat and drink. The unconscious tiny fermale brown tabby kitten was the last kitten to do this, taking a full two weeks longer than all of her brothers and sisters to gain consciousness again and gain enough strength to be able to start to feed herself for herself, but although she always remained small in size for a female adult cat, she lived for a good 16 years as my constant companion and little four-footed Spiritual Protector. That brown tabby kitten I discovered could Astral Travel 200 miles and if I went beyond that distance, I could feel her panic as I dropped off of her feline radar, and she would send me a telepathic message to say, “Come back Mum, I’m worried about you!” Never have I ever been so grateful for my Spiritual Mediumship gifts as that precious day living up in mid-Wales.Never under estimate the Spiritual Gifts of a kitten and if you have another female tabby kitten looking for a new home, I will quite happily help with one, as my 18 year old rescued feral cat is about to pass back to the Spirit World any time now.

Yes…that last photo was definitely an endearing ‘please take me home with you’ cat pose.
They all were eventually adopted by loving people.

I just said the prayer because I have 2 10-week old kittens to get adopted. Their mother was a feral cat and we fed her and she eventually came in the house to eat and sleep in our laundry room. We took her to get spayed and found out she was pregnant. She had her babies in one of our spare bedrooms and she is so grateful to us. We also have a dog and she loves him but hasn’t been with him since she had her babies. Now we are hoping that we can get a good home for them and get her spayed. I thank you for this beautiful prayer and hope my babies get adopted soon.
