Since they like to stay home and are perfectly happy in small places, our 2 Siamese cats (Siri and Keona) are trying to teach us how to effectively “shelter-in-place” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are the simple cat guidelines that we are expected to follow:
1. Eat, purr, sleep
2. Make time for meditation, NOT worry
2. Use the litter box when necessary
3. Don’t ever scratch or play with the toilet paper roll, because someone might need it
4. Give yourself a bath every day, or have another cat lick you clean
5. Occasionally play with something that squeaks, if you get bored
6. Stay warm

Of course, there are a few things on this list that human beings can’t do.
However, after a few minor tweaks and some changes in the wording, it is basically good advice. Stay safe!

Before I Forget

Yes, they do give good advice! The BluePoint Siamese (Siri) is a rescue kitty. We got her through the Siamese Cat Rescue Center. She was found on a doorstep in a taped-up box with 5 other kittens (with only 4 small holes poked in the top). After all that, I think it is amazing that she will still get into a small place or box, and does not be worry about getting stuck! If it were me, I would never go near another box, ever.

It has been raining for 3 days and the sun is hidden under deep clouds.
Had to try to think of something to make my mind smile .
Sitting in the house “shelter-in-place” is difficult, but not for our cats. They love having everyone together all of the time. AND, if no one can go anywhere, that means there is no way we can take them to the Vet! That’s an extra plus in their eyes…..

I keep hearing that I am in the high risk group because of my age and because I had lung surgery 5 years ago. This is all very unnerving!

Age and diabetes are throwing me into that group. It is unnerving. I have washed my hands so much they are parched, which by the way, is another entry point for infection. I need to keep lotioning them up!

Yes. Bob’s been braving the shopping trips. And our governor has made it official. We are now on lock-down. We have to shelter in place and can’t go out into public unless it is for necessities. Food, meds, doctor. Apparently, the next three weeks will tell all.

It was crazy at the grocery store here when things first shut down. People were panicking, bumping into each other, taking stuff out of each other’s carts. It was horrible. One man went out with 2 shopping carts of toilet paper. But wait…you can’t eat toilet paper! So Tom does the shopping now. Next week, we set up for home delivery from the grocery store. They are only charging $5 to deliver. That way we won’t have to deal with being with groups of unpredictable people. Everyone is saying the next few weeks will be the worst. I don’t know. I hope it is over soon. This is a big country.

We saw that here too. It has settled down and there is actually TP on the shelves each morning. We are blessed; our freezer and pantry are full. And we have lots of chicken and eggs! 🙂 Stay in, be careful, and let the world do its thing. We don’t need to be out in all the crazy. ❤ ❤ ❤
