Stories with No Books. 
I majored in philosophy because all of my life I have been wondering WHY. I thought philosophy classes would help me answer some of my questions, but all it did was create more. Oh well. I eventually realized that there is more truth to be found in nature than in most books. So now I am unlearning everything I previously learned.
Love a good story, I do! Without pen, pencil, or paper–I watch life write itself in a slightly different way each day. There are fascinating stories everywhere, so my attention tends to wander. As a result, my theme is no theme. Some people call this sort of mental wandering ‘Attention Deficit Disorder’ (ADD), so follow at your own risk 😉 ~ms!

Hey there Newbie Spikey!
(for your info, a Spikey is the term for folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂
I wanted to catch up and say “thank you… I really appreciate your ‘follow’ as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.”
Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.
I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

I’m not a newbie, Uncle Spike. I’m an oldie. I have been reading for quite awhile. I thought I was a follower, but I must have fallen off the follower list somehow, so I just added myself back on. 🙂

I was looking back through my lists last night and couldn’t make the connection (lost of followers has its down side too), doh, my humble apologies 🙂
I thought…. do I ‘ignore’ (nope), assume my gut was right and ‘welcome back’ (but if wrong, stoopid), or go for ‘new’…. oops, got that wrong.
Know what you mean though, WP does like to ‘forget’ sometimes…. frustrating I know.
Anyway, thanks for correcting me… my grey cell count must be increasing somewhat, that’s all !

Many different reasons why it takes courage to think with one’s own mind.
If what one thinks is different from what other people think….
Could be shunned, laughed at, considered a complete idiot, and/or killed. Look how frightening it was for the first person who said the world was round. He was right, but in the eyes of the others he was totally wrong. Over time, many people have been tortured and killed for coming to conclusions that were not shared by others.

I finally figure the Why of things. They are there so we can ask Why. For instance; We ask, “Why are they doing that stupid thing they do?” The answer: So we can ask why are they doing that stupid thing they are doing.

I love your blog. Sorry to hear about your moving challenges. Somehow God and the Universe has a way of making these things come together in the end. I know you already know this. I absolutely loved hearing you sing the song Ave Maria. That song was my teacher Mr. Ambrister’s favorite song. He played it all the time. He said it reminded him of a past life when he lived in Italy. He would sing that song on the gondola. Hearing you sing it reminded me of him. I had to try hard to hold back the tears as you sang beautifully.
When I heard you singing I was reminded how much we spiritual bloggers are all truly connected. I am so happy to have met you.

I do know what you say is true. Thing usually work out in the end. But, when I am in the middle of something stressful, I always wonder…uh oh…maybe this is the time when it’s not going to be OK and it’s not going to work out.
Singing has always been what I have instinctively turned to when I was upset or worried. Some people thought it might not be possible but, 3 months after I had lung cancer surgery (last May 2015), I agreed to sing “God Bless America.” I didn’t how well I would do, but I NEEDED to sing.
Now that I think about it, it definitely was a meditation. I had to find a way to block the feeling of fear, every time I took a breath. My ribs still hurt and there wasn’t the same amount of air that I had before the surgery. But, with the strength of the 70 voice RCS chorus singing right behind me, I found the courage to go on. And you are absolutely right. We are all spiritually connected!

I too grew up wondering WHY – though followed a somewhat different direction – studying Psychology. My mind has always wandered – so yes some ADD tendencies – although frustrated teachers labelled me an ‘Intellectual Dilettante’; which I was quite proud of at the time but have since learned that it was meant to be slightly derogatory! I have a son who is Dyspraxic and together we have some amazing mental journeys and bizarre (well to others) conversations. So I shall, now that I have found your blog, follow your writing with great interest and anticipation.

What you say is absolutely true “there is more truth to be found in nature”👌. Nature is a manifestation of the Supreme Being and so if we listen and we learn the meaning of life.
