About

Yesterday whispers
today into tomorrow,
nothing ever dies.
Thought itself lives on inside
Stories with No Books. Hawaii_3I majored in philosophy because all of my life I have been wondering WHY.  I thought philosophy classes would help me answer some of my questions, but all it did was create more. Oh well. I eventually realized that there is more truth to be found in nature than in most books. So now I am unlearning everything I previously learned.

Love a good story, I do! Without pen, pencil, or paper–I watch life write itself in a slightly different way each day. There are fascinating stories everywhere, so my attention tends to wander.  As a result, my theme is no theme. Some people call this sort of mental wandering ‘Attention Deficit Disorder’ (ADD), so follow at your own risk 😉   ~ms!

    Hey Mary!

Loved this photo and poem. Thanks for visiting!

    • Thanks Russ. The photo was taken on the Island of Kauai, in the Allerton Gardens. On that particular day it was raining and the sun was shining at the same time. That happens a lot in Hawaii, which is why rain is often referred to as liquid sunshine.

Stories bring us alive, told through words or song, or in the silence between. Funny thing about my stories – once told, they’re no longer mine.

    • In reality, two people cannot follow each other.
The thought creates a rather interesting image in the mind: “You go first…no wait…you go first. Oh this is not working! Let’s just walk side by side!”
Because you were following me —I was already noticing your blog (whether I ever actually remembered to hit the follow button or not). 🙂

  36. Curious to note Mary, we majored in different areas. Mine was communications. Yet, it is nature’s lure that attracts us most! Have loved your site since first laying eyes on it. Yes, it has been a few years now! Have not tired of your most excellent blog! enjoy life, Eddie

    • Thank you Eddie!
I thoroughly enjoy your blog also.
Nature communicates through vibrations…..in the wind, the rustling of leaves, the chirping of crickets, etc.
So a love for true communication fits perfectly with a love for nature.
      Philosophy means “love of wisdom.”
Anyone who loves wisdom will listen carefully to the voice of nature. That’s where the truth lies.
So we basically majored in different areas of the exact same thing. 😉

we’re pre-programmed to search for answers, It seems, and yet answers come attached with more and more questions… LIfe to me seems like a maze, a big puzzle, which, if we ever found a way through what would we find waiting for us at the ‘exit’ ? A prize? or a further bigger maze? exciting stuff… but then, life should be seen that way, an adventure, for we have no sure knowledge of the ending.. 🙂 xx

    • It’s true.
And sometimes the adventure is exciting,
      sometimes gentle,
      sometimes overwhelming,
and sometimes, on a cold grey day, the adventure just makes me want to go back to sleep under warm blankets.
