Yesterday whispers
today into tomorrow,
nothing ever dies.
Thought itself lives on inside
Stories with No Books.
I majored in philosophy because all of my life I have been wondering WHY. I thought philosophy classes would help me answer some of my questions, but all it did was create more. Oh well. I eventually realized that there is more truth to be found in nature than in most books. So now I am unlearning everything I previously learned.
Love a good story, I do! Without pen, pencil, or paper–I watch life write itself in a slightly different way each day. There are fascinating stories everywhere, so my attention tends to wander. As a result, my theme is no theme. Some people call this sort of mental wandering ‘Attention Deficit Disorder’ (ADD), so follow at your own risk 😉 ~ms!

Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂 Sorry this is a bit late, but I am very appreciative nonetheless!!

Yes. I took this photo on the island of Kauai, walking through the Allerton Gardens. It was raining off and on that day (liquid sunshine), which is typical of Hawaii. It was the combination of the misty rain and the sunlight that caused the glowing object near the center of my photo.
Or….maybe it was a thought being wandering through the trees.

I love the premise of your blog, and the title. I have been putting my stories together as well but am planning (hoping) to self publish them – my kids once told me “to get a life” and I wanted them to know that I did. 😉 I am almost finished a book of stories about my ancestors … I’m slogging through the last minor mods.

That’s great!
It was a child who gave me the name for my web address: “Stories with No Books.” When I worked in preschool, I often told stories about my own childhood. Then, one day when we were all outside, a young boy came up and asked me if I would read him a story.
So I said, “OK.Let me go inside and get some books.”
He said, “No. Not those. Read me one of your stories….you know…about when you were little…the stories that have no books. ”
I have often wanted to know how my ancestors felt about life, but there are no records.

I have read that it is a good idea to have a theme.
But I don’t have one either.
I am all over the place with my thoughts.
That’s kind of the way I am in my life also—wandering around in my own mind.
So, don’t worry. Write for us what your mind tells you is right for you. 😉

Well thank you, wisejourney!
Unfortunately, sometimes I wander so deep into my mind, that I bump into things in the physcial world. A few months ago, my Philosophy professor stopped me from colliding with a column at UMW (I was reading, thinking, and walking at the same time–not smart).
I was rather embarrassed, but he kindly laughed and said….”I understand, don’t worry . Sometimes I walk into walls too.” 🙂
